How to resume failed scp transfer

You must know that scp do not have resume option but you can turn to rsync for this. So, if the scp transfer failed:
# scp file_to_transfer lame@remotehost:/path/
You can resume with rsync like this:
# rsync --partial file_to_transfer lame@remotehost:/path/file_to_transfer

SMF Tips and Tricks

I got this SMF forum for my wife and is working very well. I am very satisfied with SMF. However, sometimes you get into trouble with it and the worst part is you do not have much logs to work with. Also, apache logs won't help much either. So, below you will find things I encountered.

1. 500 error without any useful errors in the logs (apache or SMF):

I busted my head a bit with it but it turned out it is quite easy: delete all cache files from cache directory but please make sure you do not delete .htaccess file.

Debian: pdo_mysql.so: undefined symbol: pdo_parse_params in Unknown on line 0

You are here because you got this error when trying to run php via command line:
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20100525/pdo_mysql.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20100525/pdo_mysql.so: undefined symbol: pdo_parse_params in Unknown on line 0
Also, you probably use Debian Squeeze and you recently did software update. If yes, read on for a fix.

AIO on AIX

AIO subsystems in 6.1 and later are loaded by default and not activated. It is implemented as kernel service instead of using special device aio0 as in previous AIX versions.

Debian: reinstall zfs when changing the linux kernel

Your zfs was working properly but you have upgraded your system, including the kernel, and your zfs is no more available. This is normal because zfs was compiled for the other one. So all you will have to do is to execute the following commands (do not forget of course to install/put in place the needed linux source or headers before that):
dpkg-reconfigure spl-dkms
dpkg-reconfigure zfs-dkms
PS: If you install the debian package of linux-headers (e.g. linux-headers-3.16.0-4-amd64), most probably the zfs modules will be compiled automatically.

Centrify Useful Commands and Information

If you do not know what Centrify is, most probably you do not need the commands below. However if you are curious, more info can be found on their website: http://www.centrify.com In a nut shell, Centrify allows UNIX/Linux/OSX machines to join Active Directory.

Most common place to get this error is when you try to compile something in cygwin environment because the configuration script is not able to detect properly the system type due to missing important information in config.guess.
